End of Life Doula & Grief Companion
Sidekick Doula’s mission is to raise awareness, educate and serve our community in understanding their options and rights for end of life care and post death care. I work with clients to identify, discuss, plan for, and act upon their end of life wishes, values, beliefs, and needs.
What is an End of Life Doula?
End of life Doula’s are trained non-medical professionals who provide emotional, physical, spiritual and educational support for someone nearing death. EOLD’s are there to guide individuals and their loved ones on the journey in preparation for, during and after end of life.
My name is Samantha
I received my calling to support others plan for a time when they are no longer able to communicate and to provide guidance for those nearing their end-of life through my own personal loss experiences. During my life, I have loved (with all my heart!) and I have lost. I have lost family, friends, partners, unborn babies and pets. I have felt confused, unsupported and grief stricken. I have watched those around me lose their loved ones and go through the same confusion and loneliness. I have watched others pass away and could not get over the feeling that there was more we could have done to plan and guide them through their final moments and to provide support for their loved ones.
I truly believe that proper preparation whether or not there is the presence of disease/illness, can open the door to a better life experience and a peaceful death. I aspire to break down barriers around the discussions of death and dying because communication is key to allow individuals to discover what a good death might look like for them and their loved ones.
As a certified End of Life Doula, Advanced Care Planner and Grief Companion, I am here to guide you to make the best choices for your life now as well as planning for the end of your life in a safe and nonjudgmental space.
I look forward to meeting you and your family!
